Passing on the memory of those who fought for freedom to younger generations is one of the core values of Les Fleurs de la Mémoire.
This year, around fifty students from the CE2, CM1, and CM2 classes at Cerisy-la-Forêt School took part in a day dedicated to remembrance. After studying the subject in class, the children paid tribute to several American soldiers by placing flowers on their graves.
Among them was Private Muller, whose story they had learned about during their lessons. This preparation gave special meaning to their visit and brought history to life. Throughout the day, the students asked many thoughtful questions, demonstrating genuine curiosity and a strong interest in the lives of the soldiers and the events of the Second World War.
These meaningful exchanges perfectly reflect one of our association’s missions: to preserve the memory of those who fought for freedom and to help younger generations better understand history through simple acts of remembrance, respect, and gratitude.
Les Fleurs de la Mémoire warmly thanks the teachers and students of Cerisy-la-Forêt School for their enthusiasm and commitment to keeping this memory alive.
